8th Grade Grammar

Getting a good start into this topic will be a good way to make further progress.
As you progress through schooling, you will find that you will need to keep a skill level of at least 8th grade grammar in order to succeed. After you\'ve obtained 8th grade grammar, you will find that your grammar courses will change to go more into theory and study of classical works, than into the rules and exceptions of the English language. In high school, this can outcome in many students forgetting past grammar lessons, as practice is an constitutional part of remembering grammar rules and exceptions.

There are several things that you can do to keep a 8th grade grammar level. First, you can practice reading and writing. This is in particular useful if you plan on pursuing a career that involves a lot of study, such as law, engineering or a doctorate degree. The saying that practice makes perfect is true, especially when it comes to English grammar. Just reading about the diverse rules of English will not help you master the concepts, theory and implementation of those rules. You need to apply what you have learned in writing, or you will not remember it. As you get along in your knowledge of English, you will need to be able to bend or break the rules in such a way that it flows logically and can be read easily. This is one of the hardest challenges that you will face.

8th grade grammar consists of several things. It involves applying the theory of English grammar to the study of written works. Common exercises for this level involve following a sentence structure written by somebody else and transforming it into a work of your own. This means taking a line by line edit of somebody else\'s work, using a different subject altogether, and writing something unique. These exercises practice all of the basic and advanced skills of English grammar and force you to expand your vocabulary. However, what this level of English does not do is teach the how and the why to the basic rules. You are expected to know and understand this. If you do not, you will need to take steps to learn it. Many teachers will be able to suggest tutors to help you relearn basic grammar skills, and some will take the time to help teach you themselves.

If you are already at 8th grade grammar levels, you may want to practice previous grammar levels to make sure that you keep your skills up to date. This can be done through taking tests and quizzes on the internet, as well as reading novels of any grade level.
